My newest novel, Things I Hope I Taught My Children
Welcome
Friends, Romans, and Yankees...I'm Olivia deBelle Byrd, and I'm pleased as can be to welcome you to my website. For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting, you are doubly welcome to come in and sit a spell and to explore a bit of my world and my work. I am the author of Miss Hildreth Wore Brown-Anecdotes of a Southern Belle (2010), Save My Place (2014), and Things I Hope I Taught My Children-The Serious, The Mundane, The Inane (2024).
Now in case you haven't guessed, I'm a Southerner so I tell stories that are sometimes inspired by real life and not necessarily the God's honest truth. Truth may be stranger than fiction, but fiction INSPIRED by strange and wonderful Southern truths can be found in my humorous book Miss Hildreth Wore Brown.
Southern humor can also be sweet and old-fashioned. You might want to pull out the Kleenex for my second book, Save My Place. It is a love story that will pull at your heartstrings and bring back wonderful memories of a South gone by.
My newest book, Things I Hope I Taught My Children, touches on life, home, and, yes, children. Short but sweet sayings offer snippets of wisdom, humor, and food for thought in true Southern style.
I hope you enjoy my site and my books, and I invite you to drop me a line as my readers are some of my favorite people. Visit my facebook, youtube & pinterest pages. You will find links throughout the site. Enjoy!
